ONE HOUR WORKBENCH

ONE HOUR WORKBENCH

I think my favorite saying, when I see someone posting about building a workbench or a worktable, is, “it would be a hell of a lot easier to build that workbench if you had a workbench.” I know I was thinking that the first time I built a worktable. I bought my first pair of saw horses after I built a worktable so I was working off the ground.

This set of plans is supposed to be a way to quickly and easily build a sturdy workbench so you can increase your productivity while woodworking. I would say it’s an inexpensive way but that is not accurate in April of 2021. Right now, where I live the wood for workbench will cost about $65. A year ago it would have been around $30. Either way, it’s well worth the expense.

Both ends of the bench have an overhang to allow for clamping. The plans are easily modified if you’d like to change to height, width or length. However, if you change the width and length, you should consider adding additional legs and more cross bracing along the long stretchers. You can also add additional shelving, wheels or drawers if you desire.
